On Saturday August 25, 2018 of Pasadena, MD, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, Mrs. Ruby Reynolds Burke passed away peacefully. Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Byron Karl Burke and her son, John Patrick Burke. She is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Stuart of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sandra Burke Anderson of Chestnut Hill Cove, MD; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and one great granddaughter. Ruby started her employment at WEPM radio station in Martinsburg, WV when it first aired in 1946. Most people knew her as Penny while she was there. Her next employment was working on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. She worked on the Senate side of the US Capital and left there in 1956. She began outside employment again in the late 1970’s with Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland until retirement in 1998. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet parking available), Thursday, September 6, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Service and Interment will be held on September 7, 2018 at Rosedale Cemetery in Martinsburg, WV at 1 p.m.
