On Friday, May 9, 2014 of Lanham, MD. Beloved wife for 42 years of Donald J. Brophy; cherished mother of Michael Brophy (Carly Chillmon) and Amanda Brophy; devoted grandmother of Hayden and Paul Brophy; daughter of the late Verino and Elena Pronio; sister of Silvio Pronio (Lina) and the late Maria Benedetti (Sam). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) Thursday May 15 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at Holy Rosary Church, 595 Third Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20001, on Friday, May 16 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., followed by Funeral Mass. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Edie’s name to the National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org and/or to Holy Rosary Church.
