DENISE BERNIER (Age 107)

On Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Bedford Court Assisted Living Facility in Silver Spring, MD. She was born to Alberto DiGoristiaga and Georgia Peterstronisse on February 5, 1905 in Monaco. Denise married the late Conrad Bernier in Paris, France in 1928. The couple moved to Washington, DC, where she has resided since. She dedicated her life to teaching French and Spanish, both her native languages, at Holton Arms School and Immaculata College. Denise is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jacques and Simone Bernier of Fort Myers, FL and Claude and Dorothy Bernier of Bethany Beach, DE; eight grandchildren, Danielle Schmidt, Marc Bernier, Philippe Bernier, Denise Putman, Paul Bernier, Carolyn Bernier, Michael Bernier and David Bernier; and ten great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be announced at a later date.
