On Saturday, January 1, 2011, of College Park, MD a distinguished Korean Veteran who earned the Bronze Star Medal with “V” device. Beloved husband of J. Patricia Barrett; father of Russell Francis Barrett III; uncle of James V. Barrett, David Barrett, Lawrence I. Barrett, Anne Barrett, Kathryn Barrett Simpson and many more nieces and nephews. Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, January 5, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and at Holy Redeemer Church, Berwyn Rd. and 49th Avenue, College Park, MD, on Thursday, January 6, from 9 to 9:30 a.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, DC.
