LINNET E. FARRELL
Linnet E. Farrell, a Panamanian born creative spirit, joined the realm of the ancestors on May 6 in Takoma Park, Maryland. She was 97. Her beautiful soprano voice was a part of many Seventh-Day Adventist Church choirs over the years. Although she made her living as a bank clerk, she was known for her talents as a gifted needle and visual artist who also enjoyed entertaining. Her mantra was that food not only had to taste good, but it also had to look inviting. At an early age, she filled countless notebooks with lyrical poetry. She had elegant, classic taste in her choice of clothing and loved all colors.
Mrs. Farrell was born in New Providence, Republic of Panama, to Charles Barton and Grace Witter Barton. She spent her formative years in the city of Colon, on the Caribbean coast. She emigrated to the United States in 1949, and the following year married Arthur T. Farrell, the love of her life.
Wherever she resided, people were drawn to her sweetness and her beautiful smile. Linnet had a devoted fan club at churches in Brooklyn, New York, Port Charlotte, Florida, Ellenwood, Georgia, and Suburban Maryland. She was active on many church committees even as the infirmities of age caught up with her. She will be forever remembered and cherished for her kindness, generosity, and faithfulness.
Linnet Farrell is survived by three daughters, Betty L. Farrell, Cynthia Farrell Johnson (Stephen C. Johnson), and Anita R. Hughes (Daniel L. Hughes) and three grandchildren, Matthew A.F. Johnson, Nathaniel A. F. Johnson, Katherine Grace Hughes. Her husband, Arthur T. Farrell preceded her in death.
