Emory Nelson Ellis Jr. (Age 88)

On June 29, 2018, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of 65 years to Jean Ellis; Predeceased by one brother, Jack Ellis. Cherished father of five children:Teresa Brown (Greg), Christopher Ellis (Carla),Timothy Ellis (Adria), Brian Ellis (Beth), Emory Ellis III (Katie); Adored grandfather of Patrick Brown (Robin) and Mary Beth Brown Colavito (Kenny); Matilda and Sadie Ellis; Wyatt, Calvin and Josephine Ellis; Matthew,Tommy, Charlotte, and Natalie Ellis; Megan, Declan, Annie and Emory David Ellis. Also survived by great-grandson Ethan Brown. Emory was a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown Law School. He practiced law in the Federal Government and as a partner with Fulbright & Jaworski law firm. Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday July 2, 2018 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Followed by a Funeral Mass on Tuesday July 3, 2018 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Private interment at a later date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in support of two of Emory’s grandsons that have diabetes, to JDRF, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004. On Monday, June 25, 2018, of Montgomery Village, MD, formerly of Bethesda, MD. Beloved husband for 38 years of Clare King; father of Cynthia Marie King; brother of George Washington King V. He is also survived by other loving family and friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Friday, July 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 5450 Massachusetts Avenue, Bethesda, MD, on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 12 p.m. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery. Passed away early on June 13, 2018 in Santa Fe, NM, surrounded by many of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Mary Heneghan with her husband, John (d.2007), was a long-time resident of Bethesda, MD and is survived by her 12 children, John C. (Elaine Normandy), MaryEllen King, Tia (Dave Ruch), Mary Jo, Philip M. (Mary Theresa), Margaret M, Brigid McCarthy (Brian), Martin C, Cate, James M. (Jay), Celia, Patrick C.; 15 grandchildren: Tanya King (Felipe Gonzalez), John (Kim), Delia Baker (Daniel), Brendan (Kate), Christian, Sean (Jacklyn), Patrick King (Megan), Connor McCarthy, Alex Ruch, Garrett McCarthy, Connor Hammond, Tess, Faye, Meehan and Finn; and 11 great-grandchildren: Liam. Zora, Donovan Baker, Danielle Baker, Colin King, Conor King, Carina, Daelyn Baker, Julianna, Emma King and Nolan Gonzalez. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Jane de Chantal Catholic Church, 9601 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, MD at 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2018 followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
