SPENCE, Raymond D.

RAYMOND DANIEL SPENCE

Raymond Daniel Spence, 81, of Port St. Lucie passed away on April 24, 2013 at St .Lucie Medical Center.

Raymond was born in Westmoreland, Jamaica. He moved to Silver Spring, Maryland where he remained until relocating to Port St. Lucie nine (9) years ago. He worked for over 30 years as a maintenance person specializing in the area of plumbing, heating, and air conditioning for a condominium complex.

He was a member of Morningside Church in Port St. Lucie and Shiloh Christian Fellowship Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. Raymond devoted his life to the Lord and loving his family.

He was also an outstanding domino player. Many of those who knew him have experienced the “wrath” of a six love at the gentle hands of Raymond.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Inez Spence; daughters Beverly Spence of Canada, Lorna Spence of New York, Arlene Spence Johnson of Maryland, Joan Brammer of Maryland, Karen Spence of Maryland, Sophia Ballinger of North Carolina, Stephanie Jackson of Maryland, and Nadine Coy of Maryland; sons Desmond Spence of Jamaica, and Stephen Spence of New York; 29 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Raymond was preceded in death by his son Erol Spence, sister Cislyn, and brothers Ernest, Donald, and Uriah.

Relatives and Friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet parking), on Monday, May 6, from 3 to 5 pm & 7 to 9 pm, and on Tuesday, May 7, from 10 to 11 am, at Peoples Community Baptist Church, 31 Norwood Road, Silver Spring, MD; where the funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
