Frances Mary Petherbridge (Age 99)
On Friday May 31st, 2019 Frances Mary Petherbridge of Silver Spring, MD, beloved widow of Charles T Petherbridge, sister to the late Warren Gillis, George Gillis and Eileen Greene, passed away. Born in Pembina, North Dakota she was the daughter the late James and Frances Gillis, a former Pentagon employee and loving homemaker. She is survived by her devoted sons Douglas Petherbridge of Baltimore, MD and Mark Petherbridge of Silver Spring, MD. Friends and relatives may call at St. John’s the Evangelist Church, 10103 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD on Tuesday May 4th 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM. Lawrence (Larry) Allen Ruh (Age 75)
On Sunday, May 5, 2019, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved Brother of Alice Rauch, Louis Ruh, Paul Ruh, James Ruh, and the late Charles Ruh. Born March 30, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Albert and Ruth Ruh. Larry was a 1965 graduate of Penn State University and worked for the Department of the Army, and as adjunct faculty at the University of Maryland. He was active at Hughes U.M. Church and in the Boy Scouts of America (Order of the Arrow) local, regional and national. He will be missed by friends and family, including nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and cousins. Pearl Mae Martin (Age 94)

Beloved wife of the late John Joseph Martin; mother of Thelma Jean Martin and Robert “Boo” Martin; 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Mary E. Vogel (Age 91)
On Friday, May 31, 2019, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife of the late Richard E. Vogel, Jr.; mother of John L. (Catherine) Vogel, Richard E. (Patricia) Vogel, and Chelly Bloomfield; sister of Joanne Emmerth; also survived by 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Kathleen Elaine Dixon (Age 67)
Kathleen Elaine Dixon, age 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 28, 2019, after battling rare and difficult to treat diseases for many years. She was born in Washington, D.C. on July 20, 1951, to the late Frederick and Margaret Donahue. In August 1973 she married the love of her life and best friend, Lawrence Dixon, who preceded her in death in 2007. She was a loving and dedicated mother to Michael Dixon (Diana Santos) and Elizabeth Lessig (Patrick Bailey). Her children meant the world to her and she will be sorely missed.
After graduating from Elizabeth Seton High School in 1969, she completed a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1973. Her first job was for the Environmental Protection Agency where she co-authored and edited research papers conducted by the agency. She then found her passion working as a realtor, finding success at RE/MAX Realty Centre, where she won multiple awards for her achievements.
She had a positive outlook on life, was always willing to lend an ear or a helping hand to those in need, and made friends everywhere she went. She was kind, open-hearted and generous, donating her time and money to the Children’s Miracle Network and family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed spending time at the beach in Ocean City, MD, eating seafood with family and friends, celebrating Christmas year-round, and collecting antiques.
She is also survived by her sisters Josephine Waugh (Ken) and Sharon Donahue (Rodney Conway), her nieces Christine Waugh and Jada Donahue, and her nephews Ted Donahue and James Conway.
Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Tuesday, June 4th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. A celebration of her life will be held at St. Peter’s Church (2900 Sandy Spring Road, Olney, MD) on Wednesday, June 5th at 11am. Interment private. Memorial donations may be made to the National Organization for Rare Diseases at https://rarediseases.org/
