Suyapa Perez de Augment (Age 65)

On Monday, January 1, 2018, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved partner to Antonio Jacobo; loving mother of Noe Augment, Ivis Lucia Perez, Jennifer Emilia Augment, Michael Augment, Mark Augment, and Elvia Waleska Cancel. Sister of Elvia Sevilla and Hector Sevilla. Also survived by 12 grandchildren. Mother-in-law of Helen Sanchez, Kimberly Hernandez and Miguel Gallardo Jr. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of Glenarden, 3600 Brightseat Road, Landover, MD Friday, January 12, 2018, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and at the Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM with Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Noe Augment Perez.

Christopher J. Remington (age 44)

Suddenly on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, of Kensington, MD.  Beloved husband of Amy Connors Remington; father of Madeline, Connor, and Cole Remington; son of Cathy and the late Joe Remington; brother of Michael (Rebecca) Remington; uncle of Mason and Abby Remington; Chris is also survived by Macy Louise, a wonderful rescue dog.  Relatives and friends may call at Holy Redeemer Church, 9705 Summit Ave., Kensington, MD, on Monday, January 8 from 4 to 7 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Redeemer Church on Tuesday, January 9 at 10:30 a.m.  Interment Private.

Marta Lilian Retamozo (Age 68)

In 1982, Grandma Marta was diagnosed with complete Renal Failure and began her journey with dialysis. In March of 1983 she received her first kidney transplant which lasted a year and an half. In December of 1992 she received her second kidney transplant which lasted a week. In 2001 she received her third and final transplant from her brother in law which lasted a month. After years of several medical issues and continued years of dialysis the doctors and her body could do no more and on December 31 , 2017 at approximately 8:15 am she took her last breath. On behalf of the family we ask that you please donate to The National Kidney Foundation, to help find a cure with those dealing with this illness. If unable to donate please find it in your heart to volunteer your time at any non-profit organization that helps people in need. Maria Cristina Downey (Age 66)

On Saturday, December 30, 2017, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved daughter of Julia and the late Gonzalo Martinez; loving mother of Yvette (Terry) Pena-O’Sullivan and Jannette (Kevin) Morgan; devoted grandmother of Giovanna, Leianna and Makayla; cherished sister of Gonzalo, Julie and Jose. Also survived by many other family members. She was an amazing and beautiful woman and will be missed. Thomas Robert Hewitt, Sr.

“Bobby” (Age 93)

On Saturday, December 30, 2017, of Clarksville, MD. Beloved father of Craig (Donna) Hewitt and the late Bobby Hewitt, Jr.; grandfather of Megan and Bobby Hewitt. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and close family. He was a WWII veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. Graveside Service and interment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Dora Plavetic (Age 91)

On Saturday, December 30, 2017, of Rockville, MD. Beloved wife of the late John Plavetic; mother of John Karlo (Lorena) and Dora Patricia Plavetic; grandmother of Mark and Daniel Plavetic; sister of Jaime (Fabiola), Jairo, Amanda and the late Mariela, Fabiola and Salvador; aunt of Alba Lucia, Cielo, Paula, Fabiolita and Patricia. Also survived by other family members.
