Wilma Bright was born in Dorchester, VA to Mr. Eugene and Mrs. Glessie Bright. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Charles and Winston. Wilma is survived by five children: Teddy, Mary Ann, Kimberley, Deborah, Nancy; and four grandchildren: Jonathan, Kayla, Jerry and Amy. Wilma has requested that her ashes be spread underneath Natural Bridge, VA.

On Friday, February 5, 2016, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Susan C. Podrasky; father of Jean Podrasky (Grace Fasano), Richard (Elisa) Podrasky II, and Suzanne Podrasky Stafford (Bob Stafford); grandfather of Nick, Erica, Noe and Emmy; and brother of Rosemary Roberts. Also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. Richard Podrasky graduated from University of Pittsburgh with an Electrical Engineering degree. He served in the U.S. Army working at the Pentagon and worked for IBM, closely with NASA. While working for IBM in Frankfurt Germany, he met and married Susan Conniff. He loved fine wines, cooking gourmet foods and travelling the world. James Patrick Garritty died Monday, February 1, 2016. He was 83 years old. He was born on February 18, 1932 in Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was the first son of Francis and Irene Garritty. He graduated from DeMatha High School and the University of Maryland. He worked for more than 40 years in the insurance industry as a Chartered Life Underwriter.

Jim was a great family man and a loving father. He married “the girl next door”, Lala Huebner Garritty in 1955. He was a social, active man who was deeply involved in the Catholic Church, Colesville Lions Club and Sigma Chi for the majority of his life. He enjoyed golf, poker and the Redskins. For the past decade, he has resided in Riderwood Village. He was involved in many volunteer pursuits.

He is survived by his son, Dr. Chip Garritty and grand-daughter Kylie both of Bryant, Arkansas; brother in law, Adrian Huebner of Little Orleans, Maryland ; sister in law Agnes Garritty of Manasses, Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and Friends may call at Church of the Resurrection at Riderwood Village, 3110 Gracefield Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20904 from 10 to 11 am, where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am. On Tuesday, January 26, 2016, of Silver Spring, MD.  Beloved husband of Mary Rogers.  He was the brother of Florence McKay, Edna Hughes, and Helen Grant (deceased).  Father of Marie Ferguson (husband Bill Ferguson), Joanne Glorioso (husband Sal Glorioso), Tricia McGunigal, (husband Dr. Tom McGunigal) Joseph Rogers (wife Shelby Rogers), Jim Rogers (wife Jane Rogers).  He was a proud and loving father, grandfather of 14 and great-grandfather of 5 and will be greatly missed.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.  Dad, your memories live on forever in our hearts.  We have a new angel looking down on us.  We love you.

On January 28, 2016 in Sandy Spring, Maryland, Dan Miller died after a long illness. Formerly the general manager of the old Credit Bureau of Washington, he retired in 1990 as Regional Vice-President of Equifax, Inc. He was a past president of the Greater Washington Executives Association, a member of the Washington Rotary Club, past Chairman of the Better Business Bureau of Metropolitan Washington, secretary of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Washington and active in many community service organizations. He was also a member, deacon and elder of the First Alliance Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley; children, Victoria Schellhase of Gaithersburg, Maryland and Stephen Miller of Alexandria, Virginia, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.A Christian memorial celebration will be held at the First Alliance Church on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 11 a.m.,14500 New Hampshire Avenue, Silver Spring, Maryland 20904. (Age 67)
Of Silver Spring, Maryland, passed away on January 30, 2016 at Suburban Hospital following a stroke while working at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Mary was born on October 30, 1948 in East Stroudsburg, PA to her parents Lester and Hilda Dimmick. After graduation from East Stroudsburg High School, Mary attended St. Luke”s School of Nursing in Bethlehem, PA becoming a Registered Nurse upon graduation in 1969. During her almost 50 years as a nurse, Mary spent the last 26 years working at NIH in Bethesda, MD where her professionalism and concern for the welfare of her patients made a difference in countless lives. Mary was a force to be reckoned with and anyone who met her quickly grasped her no nonsense and direct approach, indicative of her character, values, and intellect. She was fiercely protective of her children and those she loved, while showing the grace, generosity, and compassion to care for others. Mary was passionate about her dogs and loved the mountains and water. She spent countless days and vacations at her cottage on the Severn River. One of her favorite activities was kayaking during the summer with her dogs, friends, and family. Mary will be missed by her beloved dog Lucy. She is survived by her three sons, John (wife Kelly), Matthew (wife Precious), and Peter (wife Kristine), four grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. A memorial service will be Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd West, Silver Spring, MD. Family will meet with friends 30 minutes prior. Mary”s three sons will conduct a private interment ceremony in accordance with her wishes. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to lab-rescue.org.

Rosalie A. Daniels “Jeri” was born January 12, 1942 in Elkins, WV to the late James L. Daniels Jr. and the late Rosalie Evans Daniels.  Rosalie transitioned to her heavenly home on January 24, 2016.  Rosalie recently retired from the law firm of Barnett Bolt Kirkwood Long & McBride in Tampa, Florida.

Rosalie was a loving and joyful person to all who knew her.  She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and shared her love for Him with anyone who would  listen.  Her passion for  life and love for family and friends were evident by her constant communication whether in person, via telephone and/or letters and cards.  She loved serving those in need.  She had a very giving heart.

Rosalie is survived by her siblings:  Laura Taylor, Betty Ramos (Jose), and Joan Twilley (Monte); her children:  Margaret Morgan, Robert Morgan (Paulette), and Betty Morgan; her grandchildren:  Darnell (Seteria), Duron, Quinton, David, Chais, Shane, Christrian, Taylor, and Jaylen; 7 great-grandchildren; 3 nephews and 2 nieces.

Relatives and friends may call at Chevy Chase Baptist Church, 5671 Western Avenue, Washington, DC, on Thursday, February 4, from 10 to 11 am, where Funeral Service will follow at 11 am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
