BYRON, Mary Louise

MARY LOUISE BYRON

Beloved teacher and friend, died peacefully of Alzheimer’s Disease on Thursday, February 26, 2015, in assisted living at Brooke Grove. She had lived at Leisure World in Silver Spring, MD for 37 years until 2014. Mary, a former nun in the School Sisters of Notre Dame, taught mathematics at Einstein High School in Kensington, MD for 16 years before retiring. She was born in Providence, RI, May 4, 1923, the youngest of three children, and is survived by a nephew and two nieces. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 4, at 12 noon at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15661 Norbeck Blvd., Silver Spring, MD with visitation at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Montgomery Hospice, the Alzheimer’s Association , or the School Sisters of Notre Dame in Wilton, CT.

Beloved husband of the late Helen Buonomo; father of Carlo (Suzanne), Rosemarie and Maria Buonomo; grandfather of Carla, Sophie, Tony and Giancarlo. Also survived by his sister, Josie Nigri. On Friday, February 27, 2015, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved wife for 49 years of Michael Cobb; mother of Kevin Matthew Cobb and his wife, Melissa Draley Cobb and David Edward Cobb and his wife, Burcu Sansan Cobb; grandmother of Kylie Grace and Ella Marie Cobb; sister of Martha J. Hardy and her husband, David Hardy and Letitia J. Armstrong; aunt of Megan Lee Hardy. Carolyn taught for Montgomery County Public Schools for over 30 years, having ended her career at North Chevy Chase Elementary School. Funeral services private. Beloved husband for 57 years of Helen O’Brien MacCollum; father of Sharon Martin (Russ) and Maureen Bernier (Rob); brother of Barbara Lynn; grandfather of Robert (Tammy), Daniel (Christine), Jonathan, and Peter Martin, Shannon and Annette Bernier. Also survived by two great grandchildren, Silas and Zane Martin; and other loving family and friends. A Memorial Mass will be offered at Holy Family Seminary, 401 Randolph Rd., Silver Spring, MD 20904 on Saturday, March 28 at 11 a.m. Contributions in his memory may be made to Holy Family Seminary.
