Nancy Ann Ellis (Age 76)

On Friday, November 15, 2013, of Hagerstown, MD, formerly of Kensington, MD. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Lee Ellis. DEMETRI PARIS

“Dee”

On November 12, 2013 Demetri “Dee” Paris died peacefully at home with his son Thomas by his side. Dee was active and engaged with his full life of over 98 years until cancer came at the end.

Dee was born on July 12, 1915, in Excelsior Springs, MO to parents Teresa and Thomas, and also had a sister Katherine, all now deceased. His beautiful wife, Virginia Cruze Paris, went to heaven in 1991. Dee is survived by his son, Thomas Paris of Maryland and his daughter, DeeAnn Paris of West Virginia.

Dee was a decorated WWll combat veteran, retired US Army Armor officer, a Barbershop Harmony singer and officer member for over 67 years, “Hall of Honor” member, Gold champion medalist with the “Singing Capital Chorus” of the Washington, DC. chapter and a retired State Department official.

On Sunday, November 10, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD. She succumbed to the effects of a stroke 2 1/2 years ago and just recently a failing heart. Beloved wife for 52 years of the late Stanley John Kowal; mother of Stanley (Theresa Marie) Kowal, Theresa Ann Kowal, Jeanie (Randy) Hetrick, Patty (Gabe) Arias, Tina (Dennis) McHale, Dr. Thomas (Christine) Kowal, Grace (Joe) Mitchell, Lawrence (Amanda) Kowal, James (Pam) Kowal, and the late Mary Elizabeth Kowal; daughter of the late Alfred and Grace Hurley; sister of Millie (Gordon) Steward and Sr. Alma Bernadette, and the late Celie Settle. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, Kim, Jeremy, Emily, Hank, Luke, Patrick, Brandon, Serena, Megan, Katie, Christian, Faith and Lilianne; and many nieces and nephews. Harold Hocking. Bernice retired from the U.S. Soldiers Home and was an active, life-long member of the Roman Catholic Church. Beta Nahapetian of Gaithersburg, MD, passed away on November 4, 2013. Beloved wife of Ara Nahapetian for 45 years; loving mother to Eta Davis and Kate Nahapetian; and adoring Nana to Ani and Alenoush Davis and Diran and Zaven Deichmann. She had a beautiful life, enjoying her passion for family, dear friends, and travel. She graduated from the American University of Beirut, was a leading member of the Armenian Relief Society, and as a champion bridge player, achieved the status of Gold Life Master. She had a successful career as a Systems Analyst, working for IBM, DuPont/Remington and the FBI.
