VERONICA A. ROBINSON
Veronica Robinson (formerly Veronica Vercelli), passed away on September 12, 2013, at the age of 88, in Silver Spring, MD, formerly of Ridgefield Park, NJ. Veronica, known to her friends as Ronnie, was born in Paterson, NJ but was brought up and educated in Gilford, County Down, Northern Ireland, before returning to the U.S. where she married Carlo George Vercelli. They lived most of their married life in Ridgefield Park. They had one child, David, who now lives in Silver Spring, MD. Ronnie also was stepmother to Carlo’s son, Carl, who lives in Damascus, PA, with his wife, Lynnda. Ronnie was step-grandmother to five grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Following the death of Carlo in 1994, Veronica married her childhood sweetheart, Edward “Ted” Robinson, in Gilford in 1998, where they lived happily in their Irish bungalow until his death in 2006 when Veronica moved in with her son David in Maryland. Ronnie worked for the Ridgefield Park Board of Education beginning in 1967 where she served as secretary for both the Ridgefield Park High School Athletic Department and the Ridgefield Park Adult Education program until her retirement in 1990. Relatives and friends may call at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd. West, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, September 16, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, September 17 at 11 a.m. A Visitation will take place at Vorhees Ingwersen Funeral Home, 59 Main Street, Ridgefield Park, NJ on Thursday, September 19 from 9 to10:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Francis RC Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment George Washington Memorial Park.
