On Wednesday, March 6, 2013, of Silver Spring, MD went home to the Lord. He was born December 12, 1922 in Maspeth Queens, NY to the late Joseph and Elizabeth Kuchinsky. “Joe” was the beloved husband of 60 years to Katherine Kuchinsky; loving father of Rev. William J. and Michael J. Kuchinsky; proud grandfather of Isobel, Rachel and Louis Kuchinsky. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ann Rich, Patricia Tibbett and brother Edward Tibbett. A World War II Veteran and Flight Engineer, he was proud to serve our country in the Air Force for 28 and a half years. Carol Zollner Reid Hendry, 80

Carol Zollner Reid Hendry, 80, of Windsor, CA, died on February 27, in Silver Spring, MD after a sudden medical decline. Originally from Chicago, she worked as an executive secretary for 35 years with the OIA/IRI prior to retiring to Windsor in 1998. An active participant in the Windsor senior community, she made many close friends, staying in touch with her Chicago friends and relatives. A dog aficionado, she operated a successful dog sitting business for many years. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Reid and her husband Tom Wilder, her son Larry Reid and wife Joanna, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Donations may be made in her name to the ASPCA or the local humane society.

Elsie Beth worked for the Federal Government for over 20 years, and retired from Andrews AFB as a Civilian Personnel Training Officer. Elsie Beth will be missed by all the hearts she has touched. Dr. CYRIL J. MEJAC (Age 88)

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of 52 years to Maria. Father of Gabrielle (John) Dawyot and Thaddeus (Ann Marie) Mejac. He was born in Savna Pec, Slovenia and studied extensively in Europe, earning his doctorate at the University of Madrid, and immigrating to the United States in 1956. He spent over 30 years teaching, retiring from High Point High School. A devout Catholic, he was fiercely proud of his Slovenian heritage, but his greatest joy was his family, particularly his six grandchildren Suzanna, John Jr., Monica, Joanna, Elizabeth and Claire. He was predeceased by his brothers Konrad and Peter Mejac. In addition to his family, he is also survived by three sisters Cirila Novak, Pavla Potokar and Zofka Orozen, all of Slovenia, and numerous relatives and friends both here and abroad. Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Historic Church, 9700 Rosensteel Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20910 on Saturday, March, 2 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Interment St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given for Memorial Masses.
