MARY LEHMAN WHITTAM
Mary Lehman Whittam, born in Philadelphia, Pa, on January 24, 1921, daughter of Michael and Anne Mulhern Coleman. She entered into eternal peace on December 7, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank and son Gerald Michael Lehman. Mary is survived by her sons Bernard Thomas (Patricia) Lehman, Kevin Vincent (Peggy) Lehman, Thomas Francis (Lorraine) Lehman, and her daughter, Debranne Marie Lehman Last (Dennis). She adored and was so proud of her 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
Mary was owner/operator of the Coleman Charm and Modeling School, Vineland, New Jersey. After which she worked and retired from NBC, Philadelphia, Pa. where she met her husband, Frank. Mary moved from Pittsgrove to Silver Spring, Maryland, where, as a devoted Catholic, became a member of the Third Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel in Washington, D.C. After the death of her husband, Mary returned to Pittsgrove, and was active in parish work and helped establish the Third Order Carmelites at her church, St. Mary’s, Malaga, New Jersey. In 2005, Mary moved with her daughter and family to Orlando, Florida, where daily, Mary enjoyed the recitation of the rosary, Divine Mercy chaplet, Mass and communion. After a decline in health, Mary moved to the View of Winter Park, Assisted Living Facility, Winter Park, Florida, where she brought her faith, love and Irish heritage to the residents and family there. Room 4 was her love and focus until she passed. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking) Wednesday, 7 to 9 PM and at St. Andrew Apostle Church, Arcola Ave and Kemp Mill Rd, Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday December 13, 10 to 11 AM where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
