WILLIAM EDWIN MOULD
“Pop” (Age 92)
Passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011 in Silver Spring, MD, surrounded by family members. He was born on January 19, 1919 in Washington, DC to William and Alice Mould. He graduated from St. Aloysius School and attended Gonzaga High School before graduating from Eastern High School and Catholic University’s Columbus School of Business. Ed retired from the U.S. Government in 1972 after a distinguished career as a Special Agent with the Treasury Department. Ed and his wife, Kathleen, lived in Cheverly, MD for 47 years, where they raised their family and Ed was active in the St. Ambrose Holy Name Society, St. Vincent De Paul Society and the Cheverly Pool. They later lived in Annapolis and Silver Spring, MD. Ed was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 69 years, Kathleen Salb Mould and a dedicated and steadfast father to his five children: William E. Jr. (Louise) of Silver Spring, MD, Thomas M. (Nancy) of St. Augustine, FL, James P. (Debbie) of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, Kathleen C. Mroz (Jack) of Jacksonville, FL and Alice M. Briese (Byron) of Edisto Beach, SC. He cherished his role as a proud grandfather to his 12 grandchildren: Jeffrey Mould, Nicole Dennis, Valerie Miller, Elizabeth Altizer, Melissa Mroz, Jonathan Mroz, Julia Mroz, Brieanne Mould, James Mould, Shannon Aissen, Drew Briese and Maria Briese and great-grandfather to his 17 great-grandchildren. He is survived by two brothers, John and Owen Mould and three sisters, Jean Barnes, Mary Elizabeth Koberstein and Margaret Delean. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Blvd., West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking) on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Church, 3107 63rd Avenue, Cheverly, MD on Wednesday, May 4, at 11 a.m. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Washington, DC.
