Of Silver Spring, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was preceded in passing by her beloved husband, R. Fulton Davis; father E. Ranson Heubeck and brother Robert.Heubeck. A truly wonderful mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, Sharon is survived by her son Steven Davis, daughter-in-law Macey Davis, granddaughter Campbell Davis, mother Ethel Heubeck, and sisters Linda Vitale and Cindy Watts, as well as many beloved extended family members and friends. Sharon is an alumna of the former Frostburg State Teacher’s College where she met her husband, Fulton. Until her passing, Sharon was a second grade teacher at Bells Mill Elementary School in Potomac, Maryland for 32 years of her 45 year career. The legacy of her devotion to learning and love for teaching lives on in her extended family of staff; parents, students and former students of Bells Mill. Sharon’s family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a visitation at Francis J. Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, Maryland on Friday, September 11, from 2 to 4 p.m. (Valet Parking) and to celebrate Sharon’s life at a funeral service to be held at Norbeck Memorial Park, 16225 Bachellor’s Forest Road, Olney, Maryland on Saturday, September 12 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the “Mama Sharon Fund,” a fund dedicated to providing math materials for students and math teaching supplies for teachers at Bells Mill, care of Bells Mill Elementary School, 8225 Bells Mill Road, Potomac, Maryland 20854.
